I have paintings made by Ismail Acar. Even tough Acar is a young artist, he is very talented and the well known artist in Turkey.
Ismail Acar graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Engin Ýnan studio of Marmara University in 1991. He received his master’s degree from the same university in 1993. His paintings have been at many galleries within Turkey and abroad, as well as museums and collections. The artist has had thirty-five solo and well over forty joint exhibitions. Currently, Acar has been continuing his work in Ýstanbul.

Renowned Malaysian artist, Suzlee Ibrahim, famous for his extravagant abstract pieces in the Movement Series has been contributing many works of art for many years.
His idea in creating The Movement Series triggered in 1993, while he was tutoring First Year students at The Faculty of Art & Design, Mara University of Technology. The word ‘movement’ in the syllabus, which stressed on the principles of design had created a notion, leading to The Movement Series. For two years, Suzlee explored the concept and carried out researches. Of course, his hard work finally paid off when The Movement Series was first exhibited at the ‘Ilham’ Exhibition, Petronas Gallery, Dayabumi, Kuala Lumpur in 1995.
Suzlee believes in creating only quality pieces – and art with quality needs practice and patience. Being an artist, he has taken part in more than a hundred group exhibitions locally and abroad. He was one of the selected few who was involved in the 10th International Workshop for Visual Artists in Brande, Denmark and also in the 10 World Artists Show (2002-2003), Noosa Gallery, Australia.
His abstract pieces do not portray any recognized images or shapes. All of his paintings are created by his gestures and textures that are produced from the splatter of colour from various compositions on different surfaces, be it canvas or paper. Most of Suzlee’s paintings, are acrylic and oil on canvas pieces have a strong expressionistic slant. His brush stroke seems equally spontaneous, with alternating bold and fine lines.
In this exhibition, Suzlee exhibits his best pieces of art that were created from the year 2000 until 2004. From a mere size of 6 x 6 inches to a giant 6 x 8 feet. The medium used in most of his paintings are acrylic and oil paint on canvas.
Suzlee’s artwork is collected by serious art collectors and public figures from Malaysia and abroad.
Judging from the chronology of his work, more and more people are now becoming interested in his artworks. As an artist with knowledge, he used what he learnt theoretically and practically. His visits to many of the world’s greatest galleries (ex. Tate Modern, London & Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam) proved to be worthy. Because that’s how Suzlee Ibrahim gets his ideas resulting in quality works – all from the experience he gathered.
